I compost to make dirt for my garden – It’s not glamorous, but there it is.
But then I thought – What if I used my compost to plant my garden?
Experiment No. 1 ? Cantaloupe:
1. Scoop out the innards of a cantaloupe
2. Bury the whole slimy mess under about 2 inches of soil
3. Water your garden as usual
4. Thin out the little sprouts – I placed mine about 3 feet apart
It only took a couple of weeks before a little row of green sprouted!
According to all-knowing Google, I’ll be serving my family sweet organic cantaloupe this summer.
